Knowledge Transfer Partnerships help local businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside in further education colleges, higher education institutions or research organisations.

At the centre of each Knowledge Transfer Partnership is a relationship between a company and an academic. The academics apply their knowledge and expertise to support a strategic project that is central to the development of the business partner. In the process, academic staff are able to enhance the business relevance of their academic work.
