Peninsula Medical school
The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry is run in partnership with the Universities of Exeter, Plymouth and the NHS in Devon and Cornwall. Its programmes combine state-of-the-art facilities and hands-on experience. A number of different courses are available including postgraduate and research degree opportunities
Clinical skills are taught within a curriculum that integrates science and medicine. Medical education research from around the world informs the development of the curriculum in line with the requirements of healthcare professionals. Research is a vital part of the School’s activities and is carried out in the fields of biomedicine, clinical education and health services. Students can also take advantage of a number of medical societies across the region

The Horizon Centre – Torbay Hospital
The Horizon Centre is an exciting innovation, education and research facility based at Torbay Hospital. The aim of the Centre is to provide a state of the art environment where people can explore new ideas, learn new techniques and observe and reflect on clinical practice together.
The Centre incorporates clinical trials, health technology assessment and preventative care research. Investment in innovation, education and research is key to improving the delivery and quality of patient care and the Centre provides a local, regional and national ‘Centre of Excellence’ where this can take place. It includes state of the art multifunctional learning facilities, flexible seminar rooms and full audio visual technology equipment including simulators, manikins and clinical equipment.
