Devon and particularly Exeter has had a huge amount of Investment over recent years, with finished and ongoing projects creating thousands of new jobs and potential for business in the area. The completed £200m Princesshay Development in Exeter now acts as a landmark retail shopping area in the city, and significant new developments include the ‘Exeter Science Park’ and ‘Exeter Skypark’. Princesshay is home to a wide range of retailers, and acts as economic hub for the city centre.
The Exeter Science Park is a multimillion pound joint venture between Local Government, Exeter University, The Met Office and South West Regional Development Agency to develop the 24 Hectare site, located next to the M5 motorway it is designed to create a world class site for Innovative Businesses and facilities to enhance Devon’s knowledge economy. This long term project aims to make Devon and the South West a centre for innovation and knowledge creation, with major businesses and employers contributing to the local economy.
The Exeter Skypark is a £210m investment to create excellent and sustainable office, industrial and manufacturing space for businesses. Located to the east of Exeter, next to Exeter International airport, the location will provide excellent transport links, high-spec facilities, and thousands of new jobs to the local economy. Like the Science Park, and Princesshay developments, the Skypark will be a major contributor to growth of the regional economy, and enhance the growing business infrastructure of the region.
