Key employment sites and developments
With a wide range of premises located across the county, together with significantly lower rateable values, you can find the right space at the right price for your business needs in Devon, whether it be office, retail or factory.
To keep pace with demand, local planning authorities have been proactive in both allocating and developing land to accommodate future growth. Major investment in key sites is providing, and will continue to provide, high quality facilities that will ensure your business can grow in the space required. Some of the large strategic developments underway include:
Skypark
Located off Junction 29 on the M5 east of Exeter, Skypark will deliver more than 1.4 million sq ft of office and industrial/manufacturing space. The joint venture between Devon County Council and St Modwen will see £210 m invested in the 107 acre site over the next 15-20 years, and is expected to provide opportunities for up to 7,500 new jobs. With outline planning permission granted by East Devon District Council, and a 30,000 sq ft Innovation Centre planned as part of the first phase, work is underway on site to provide world-class premises. This development forms part of a wider Exeter and East Devon Growth Point, which is expected to see investment of £1 billion in a wider project that delivers sustainable communities, transport and employment opportunities.
