The town of Cranbrook which lies on the outskirts of Exeter, celebrated the opening of a new £5m railway station yesterday. The development of the new railway station will provide important links for Exeter, Salisbury and Basingstoke, with the operation of hourly services. The first train bound for Pinhoe, Exeter Central and Exeter St. David’s left the station at 8:46 am yesterday, Sunday 13th December.
Cranbrook is an environmentally friendly town which is home to 1,200 households, a figure which is expected to grow to 8,000 in the next 10 to 20 years. Further details can be found on the BBC and Exeter Daily websites.
